Three habits for successful weight loss that have nothing to do with diet and exercise.

Sometimes, loosing weight can seem like an impossible feat. However, recognizing and making small changes to some of your daily habits can help you loose the weight and keep it off.
I love what John Maxwell said: “You'll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.”
Here are three habits that helped me loose weight and keep it off:-
1. Establish a morning (Golden Hour) routine. Waking up early in the morning allows you to be most intentional about the rest of your day. The most successful people in the world all have a morning routine that led them to accomplish their dreams. Tony Robbins calls this THE HOUR OF POWER.
Is your morning routine setting you up for weight loss success? Take 30 minutes early each morning to sit quietly and to reflect on your weight loss goals. Think of the things you’ll need to do that day in order to stay on track with your healthy lifestyle change.
Stop that bad habit of waking up late, rushing out the house and getting to work barely on time. Not checking in with yourself every morning leaves you at high risk of having your emotions all tangled up and you become an easy victim of ‘bingetown disaster’.
2. Work on your HABITS. Identify one habit that you need to stop and one that you need to gain every month and work on it every day.
Zig Ziglar said, “Repetition is the mother of learning, the father of action, which makes it the architect of accomplishment.”
Of course most of us KNOW what habits we need to change but we are not actively working on them. For example; instead of sitting on the couch and watching TV for an hour everyday, try exercising while watching TV. Instead of lying in bed and listening to music, try listening to a motivational seminar. Instead of listening to the radio on the way to work, listen to a podcast about weight loss.
I encourage you to make a list of bad habits that you need to stop and a list of good habits that you need to start. Work on them every single day. As you master these habits, you’ll start to notice transformation in your weight and in other aspects of your life.
3. Change your negative self-talk. If you’ve ever struggled with your weight, this scenario has played out several times. You’re on track with your diet and exercise, then boom something happens. Next thing you know you ate way too much ice cream, or pizza, or cookies or chocolate or whatever carbohydrate or fat loaded delicacy you typically crave. And after that you end up beating yourself down and telling yourself things like “I’ll never lose this weight”, blaming yourself for everything bad that happens, then you become discouraged and ready to throw in the towel all together. Instead of beating yourself down when life happens, recognize the fact that you are human and will make mistakes. Learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself and move on.
I love this quote by John Maxwell, "The difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure."
Experts in the Mayo Clinic report that negative self-talk can induce physical as well as emotional stress which in turn can harm your cardiovascular health, your digestive system and even your immune system.
I encourage you to establish a morning routine to take full benefit of that Golden Hour. Work on those bad habits that may be sabotaging your weight loss efforts, and lastly, change your negative self talk.
I hope this information helps you in your weight loss journey.
